Alessandro Ceglia

    Alessandro Ceglia is an animation director based in Los Angeles, California, with broad experience in feature films, commercials, music videos, and interactive media. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Art History and Asian Studies and holds an M.F.A. from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts in Animation and Digital Art.

    Alessandro currently works as an Animation Director at Buck Design, where he is also the Head of the 3D Animation Department. He has directed animation on some of the studio’s most famous and award-winning projects, including “Seed Matters” for the Cliff Bar Family Foundation, “Invention of Together” for Tinder, and most recently “Share Your Gifts” for Apple. He also helped develop various interactive projects, including Google’s virtual reality “Daydream” intro, Google’s augmented reality “AR Stickers”, Buck’s own augmented reality app “Slapstick”, and a soon-to-be-released video game.

    Prior to joining Buck, Alessandro worked as a previs artist at Dreamworks Animation (“How to Train Your Dragon 2”, “Kung Fu Panda 3”, “Madagascar 3”, “Turbo”, “Dragons: Gift of the Night Fury”) and as a freelance 2D and 3D animator for television commercials and music videos.

    He has taught animation and digital tools at Loyola Marymount University and is joining the faculty at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts as an Adjunct Professor of character animation for the Spring 2019 semester.
