| Maureen Furniss, Ph.D., is founding editor of Animation Journal, the first peer-reviewed scholarly journal devoted to animation history, theory, and criticism. She is author of Art in Motion: Animation Aesthetics (John Libbey, 1998) and the forthcoming The Animation Process: Creation and Innovation (Laurence King, 2007), and she has edited other animation-related books.
