- PIKA PIKA Light animation workshop and exhibition is directed and created by Japanese artist/group TOCHKA at USC campus. The screening takes place at SCA curated and produced by Instructors of Cinema Practice faculty Lisa Mann, Shelly Wattenbarger (AKA Trixy Sweetvittles) and Research Associate Professor Richard Weinberg.

Trixy Sweetvittles received an MFA in experimental animation from California Institute of the Arts in 1996. For the past four years, she’s served as Animation Department Chair at the California State Summer School for the Arts.
She is also lead site instructor for two outreach animation programs funded by the Community Arts Partnership: the City of Los Angeles and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Screenings of her 2004 film, “Dream Lover Fondue” include programs and festivals in Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Thailand, and on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network.
She was a Rockefeller Foundation Grant nominee in 2004. Her industry experience includes serving as Animation Director for Nickelodeon’s “Blue’s Clues”. Besides teaching here at USC, she has taught animation classes and workshops at CalState Northridge, Parsons School of Design, Austin Filmmaker’s Cooperative, and College of the Canyons.
